Clark County Indiana Declared Contiguous Natural Disaster Area

INDIANAPOLIS, April 29, 2024 - Agricultural producers in Clark County who lost property due to recent natural disasters are eligible for physical loss loans from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) offers these loans for losses caused by a tornado and high winds that occurred on April 2, 2024, in Kentucky. 

FSA is offering these low-interest emergency loans to producers with a qualifying loss. Approval is limited to applicants who suffered severe physical losses only, including the loss of buildings and livestock. The deadline for producers in designated primary and contiguous counties to apply for loans for physical losses is December 26, 2024.   

Impacted Area: Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio

Triggering Disaster: Tornado and High Winds 

Application Deadline: December 26, 2024 

Primary Counties Eligible:  Kentucky – 11 Counties (Anderson, Bourbon, Bracken, Clark, Henry, Jessamine, Mercer, Nelson, Nicholas, Oldham and Woodford)      

Contiguous Counties Also Eligible: 

Indiana – 1 County (Clark) 

Kentucky - 26 Counties (Bath, Boyle, Bullitt, Carroll, Estill, Fayette, Fleming, Franklin, Garrard, Hardin, Harrison, Jefferson, Larue, Madison, Marion, Mason, Montgomery, Owen, Pendleton, Powell, Robertson, Scott, Shelby, Spencer, Trimble and Washington) 

Ohio – 2 Counties (Brown and Clermont) 

Physical loss loans can help producers repair or replace damaged or destroyed physical property essential to the success of the agricultural operation, including livestock losses. Examples of property commonly affected include essential farm buildings, fixtures to real estate, equipment, livestock, perennial crops, fruit and nut bearing trees, and harvested or stored crops and hay.
