USDA Announces Availability of Low-Interest Physical Loss Loans for Kentucky Producers Affected by Tornado on May 8, 2024

Physical loss loans through the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) can help producers repair or replace damaged or destroyed physical property essential to the success of the agricultural operation, including livestock losses. Examples of property commonly affected include essential farm buildings, fixtures to real estate, equipment, livestock, perennial crops, fruit and nut bearing trees, and harvested or stored crops and hay. 

Impacted Area: Kentucky

Triggering Disaster #1: Tornado that occurred on May 8, 2024.

Application Deadline: February 7, 2025. 

Primary Counties Eligible: Daviess. 

Contiguous Counties Also Eligible:

Kentucky: Hancock, Henderson, McLean, Ohio.

Indiana: Spencer, Warrick. 

 

Impacted Area: Indiana

Triggering Disaster #2: tornadoes, high winds, and hail that occurred on April 2, 2024.

Application Deadline: January 17, 2025. 

Primary Counties Eligible: Posey, Warrick. 

Contiguous Counties Also Eligible:

Kentucky: Daviess, Henderson, Union

Indiana: Dubois, Gibson, Pike, Spencer, Vanderburgh.

Illinois: Gallatin, White.
