Federal Emergency Management Agency Designates 21 North Dakota Counties as Primary Natural Disaster Areas; 43 Contiguous Counties Affected, Including 2 South Eastern Montana Counties.

This Presidential disaster declaration allows the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) to extend much-needed emergency credit to producers recovering from natural disasters through emergency loans. Emergency loans can be used to meet various recovery needs including the replacement of essential items such as equipment or livestock, reorganization of a farming operation, or to refinance certain debts. FSA will review the loans based on the extent of losses, security available, and repayment ability.

Triggering Disaster: Flooding

Application Deadline: 03/05/2024 

Primary Counties Eligible: Barnes, Burke, Dickey, Dunn, Golden Valley, Grand Forks, Hettinger, LaMoure, McHenry, Mercer, Morton, Mountrail, Nelson, Pembina, Ransom, Richland, Sargent, Steele, Towner, Walsh, and Wells 

Contiguous Counties Also Eligible:

North Dakota: Adams, Benson, Billings, Bottineau, Burleigh, Cass, Cavalier, Divide, Eddy, Emmons, Foster, Grant, Griggs, Kidder, Logan, McIntosh, McKenzie, McLean, Oliver, Pierce, Ramsey, Renville, Rolette, Sheridan, Sioux, Slope, Stark, Stutsman, Traill, Ward, and Williams 

Montana: Fallon, and Wibaux 

South Dakota: Brown, McPherson, Marshall, and Roberts 

Minnesota: Clay, Kittson, Marshall, Polk, Traverse, and Wilkin
